About

Residents have access to much more than a great view. A rich biodiversity in the region boasts several different varieties
of fish and many dozen species of nesting and migratory birds, including Bald Eagles. And if you’re in the right place at the right
time, you’ll catch a glimpse of an elk, moose, wolf or bear!

Summer amenities at the resort include a dock and boat launch only minutes from your lot. Take advantage of world-class Walleye
fishing, or enjoy a leisurely cruise down the lake as far as Asessippi Provincial Park and Shellmouth Dam. Constructed in the 1960s,
Shellmouth Dam was built to provide water supply along the Assiniboine River and to protect Manitoba communities downstream from
flooding, including the major centres of Brandon and Winnipeg. Thus, with the completion of the dam in 1970, Lake of the Prairies was
formed.

Sun Hills

In the winter months, you are again on the doorstep of world-class fishing – in fact, some of the best ice fishing anywhere.
The frozen lake and snow-covered valley riding trails make for ideal cross-country skiing and snowmobiling terrain. And near the
opposite end of the lake you will find Asessippi Ski Area & Resort, featuring one quad lift, two triple chair lifts, night skiing,
shopping, restaurants, and some of the longest downhill ski runs between Thunder Bay, Ontario and the Canadian Rockies.
